    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector which allows considerable improvement of workability when mounting an optical fiber in an optical connector.SOLUTION: The optical connector including an optical fiber connection part, a coating removal part, and a fiber grip is provided with a fiber guide part which guides a second optical fiber gripped by the fiber grip to the coating removal part and prevents flexure of the second optical fiber between the coating removal part and the fiber grip when a coating of the second optical fiber is removed in the coating removal part by sliding the fiber grip in an insertion direction of the second optical fiber. Furthermore, the optical connector is provided with a flexure control part which grips the second optical fiber to prevent flexure of the second optical fiber during removal of the coating of the second optical fiber in the coating removal part and automatically releases the second optical fiber from the grip in accordance with further sliding of the fiber grip after the completion of coating removal of the second optical fiber.
