The optical fiber connection part comprises: a ferrule to which a first optical fiber is mounted; a base member at which a fiber fixing groove for holding a second optical fiber and the first optical fiber to be connected in mutually abutting state is provided; a fiber pressing member which abuts to the base member and sandwiches the first optical fiber and the second optical fiber between the fiber pressing member and the base member; and a clamp member for energizing the fiber pressing member against the base member. The optical fiber connection part comprises a coating removal part for removing coating of the second optical fiber along with the second optical fiber being inserted along the fiber fixing groove.
