    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light detecting device capable of accurately detecting selectively measured feeble light. SOLUTION: The device comprises: a sequence converter array 12 for converting end faces of a plurality of optical fibers 10 into an annular sequence; a signal switching mechanism 14 for selectively outputting the light signal by moving a hole 14a corresponding to the end face of the optical fiber; a light attenuation mechanism 15 for attenuating the light signal by a given amount; a photomultiplier 17 for detecting the light signal; a light shielding tube 16 disposed between the light attenuation mechanism 15 and the photomultiplier 17; a connector 13 for connecting the sequence converter array 12 with the signal switching mechanism 14; an electric connector 18 for electrically connecting to the photomultiplier 17; and a dark box 20 for making the connector 13 and electric connector 18 into an externally connectable state and covering and shading the signal switching mechanism 14, light attenuation mechanism 15, light shielding tube 16 and photomultiplier 17. The sequence converter array 12 and photomultiplier 17 are arranged so that the extension of the light outputted from the end face of each of the optical fibers becomes a distance almost matching a light receiving face of the photomultiplier 17.
