    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the following problems: in division of encrypted content data, when control information for rightly controlling a method of decrypting content near a dividing point is not recorded in a storage device in a secure form, content can be utilized beyond a range intended by a copyright holder of the content; and if information is not rightly described, it becomes necessary to prevent the unauthorized utilization of divided content, then, an excessive load is imposed on a host device. SOLUTION: An initial vector generation key and a content key are required for encrypting content data and these keys are collectively handled as content decryption control information. In order to transfer the decryption control information between a storage device and each of various kinds of equipment, both equipment are authenticated with each other and a key for encrypting decrypted control information is shared. The key is then used for encryption and the information is transferred between the equipment.
