    • PURPOSE:To improve fault cause analysis efficiency and system reliability without damaging the economicity of an information processing system by preserving only detailed information effective for analyzing the cause of a fault. CONSTITUTION:When a typewriter control part 40 detects abnormality in a typewriter 4, not only a unit number UN40 of the typewriter itself and abnormality detailed information IUN (power source interruption fault PWF) but also a unit number UN30 of a fault class output part 30 to be an activation source, abnormality detailed information IUN30, further, unit number UN10 of a diagnostic part 10 to be the activation source and abnormality detailed information IUN40 are stored. Further, when the abnormality is not detected, any record is not kept. Accordingly, only the detailed information effective for analyzing the cause of the fault are kept. Thus, the efficiency is improved for analyzing the cause of the fault and the reliability of the system is improved without damaging the economicity of the information processing system.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the area error of a write instruction by arbitrarily designating an area, where write from a program is permitted, to easily detect the outside of the range of the preliminarily designated write-permitted area. CONSTITUTION:An instruction is taken out from a memory 20 by an instruction taking-out circuit 25 and is set to an instruction holding circuit 21. The set instruction is supplied to a write instruction circuit 22. When it is detected that this instruction is a write instruction, this instruction is outputted to an area judging circuit 26 together with the write address. On the other hand, a write-permitted area is stored in a memory 24 when it is set by a write- permitted area setting circuit 23. The area judging circuit 26 receives the write instruction from the write instruction detecting circuit 22 and decides the write address range of this instruction. The address range is outputted to the instruction taking-out circuit 25 when it is within the permitted area, but an abnormality reporting circuit 27 is started when it is on the outside of the area.
