摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system having a LAN service unit (LANSU) backplane extender which provides an inexpensive way to increase a LANSU backplane bandwidth so that performance degradation that may otherwise be caused can be avoided. SOLUTION: A system having an increased LANSU bandwidth comprises: a backplane including a plurality of data traffic (DT) communication connections operable to communicate DT, a Line Unit including a WAN interface (I/F) and a DT communications (I/F) to the data traffic communication connections, a LANSU including a LAN (I/F), a DT (I/F) to a Bandwidth Extender, and DT communication (I/F) to the data traffic communication connections, and the Bandwidth Extender including DT communication (I/F) to the LANSU, and DT communication (I/F) to the data traffic communications connections, the Bandwidth Extender operable to communicate DT between the DT communications (I/F) to the LANSU and the DT communications (I/F) to the traffic communications connections.
