SOLUTION: A server for providing functions to a terminal in a network is provided with a communication part for receiving a connection request from each of terminals (A-E) in the network, a processing part (1) for providing functions to the connected terminals (A-E), a load deciding part (21) for deciding the load of the processing part (1), a reservation part for reserving the connection of a certain terminal whose connection is rejected, and a control part (22) for controlling connection with the terminals (A-E). When the load of the processing part (1) exceeds a prescribed range, the control part (22) rejects a connection request and reserves the connection of the rejected terminal in the reservation part, and when the load of the processing part (1) becomes within the prescribed range, connects the reserved terminal.
