摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize communication interruption time by avoiding occurrence of a fault in a ring packet network, and congestion due to FDB clear when the fault is restored.
SOLUTION: Number of hops up to a node for delivering a packet to the outside of a ring is recorded in each entry of FDB. Upon the occurrence of a fault, the faulty section is specified by receiving a fault notification packet indicative of the number of hops up to a faulty section and the destination port is rewritten for an entry set to pass the faulty section thus avoiding transfer to the faulty section.
