    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To vary luminances of a plurality of display panels so that variation in luminance among the display panels is inconspicuous when the luminances are varied. SOLUTION: When a luminance value before γ correction is defined as L x , the difference L x raised to (γ)th power and L x-1 raised to (γ)th power is calculated as a luminance variation quantity ΔL (Fig. 3, S17) and the luminance of a display panel is varied to the value obtained by subtracting the luminance variation quantity ΔL from a current luminance value to carry on display for (t) seconds (S18). Then it is decided whether a luminance value L' which is ΔL less is smaller than a target luminance value L2 (S19); when the target luminance value is not exceeded, a variable (x) is decreased by one in a step S20 and a return to the step S17 is made to calculate a next luminance variation quantity ΔL.
