    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate which contributes to broadening of a viewing angle and improvement of display characteristics during black display and white display to intermediate tone display without reducing front face contrast of a liquid crystal display apparatus when compared with conventional technique. SOLUTION: The polarizing plate has a polarizing layer 10, a first optical anisotropic layer 14, a second optical anisotropic layer 12 and a light diffusion layer 18. The first optical anisotropic layer 14 is a layer formed of a liquid crystal composition and a ratio (Re/Re) of retardation at 450 nm wavelength to retardation at 550 nm wavelength is 0.9 to 1.1. The second optical anisotropic layer 12 has retardation of 40 to 120 nm and retardation Rth in a thickness direction at 550 nm wavelength is 40 to 100 nm.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring photosensitive composition which is excellent in suppressing changes in chromaticity in a formed color film, enables formation of a pattern having excellent solvent resistance, and is suitably used for formation of a color pattern of a color filter. SOLUTION: The coloring photosensitive composition contains at least (A) a pigment having a phthalocyanine skeleton, (B) a solvent, (C) at least one kind selected from a group composed of a polymerizable monomer and a binder resin, (D) a photopolymerization initiator, and (E) an oxidizing agent expressed by general formula (1). In general formula (1), R 1 and R 2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, 1-30C aliphatic group, aromatic group, aliphatic oxy group, aromatic oxy group or hetero group, and R 1 and R 2 may be bonded at each end to form a cyclic structure.
