The feed shaft 332 supporting the wiping member 340 is rotated by a motor 342 to move the wiping member 340 along the feed shaft 332 so that the wiping member 340 is moved in the longitudinal direction while bringing the wiping member 340 in sliding contact with the guide surface of the sheet guide 310. The movement of the wiping member 340 removes paper powder stuck to the guide surface and stuck matter peeled from the coat layer of the surface of the sheet.
