摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method exhibiting both improvement of sharpness of a first color ink composition from the delivery face of a nozzle and suppression of excessive expansion of dot diameter of the ink composition after second color or later.SOLUTION: An image forming method includes: a process for imparting a processing liquid including a coherent component making the component in an ink cohere to a recording medium; and a process for applying to a processing liquid applied face of the recording medium applied with the processing liquid, a first ink including water and a polymer coated pigment in which the surface of the pigment is coated by a polymer including 30 mass% or more of a structural unit derived from an aromatic ring-including monomer, 15 mass% or more of a structural unit derived from a 2-8C alkylester of a (meth)acrylic acid, and a structural unit derived from an acid group-including monomer, by an inkjet method, and applying onto the applied first ink, a second ink including a coloring material and water and having a hue different from the first ink by the inkjet method to form an image.
