    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer compound having higher absorption to industrial oil, household cooking oil and an organic solvent having a low relative dielectric constant, and to provide an oil absorbent using the polymer compound. SOLUTION: The polymer compound comprises a repeating unit (A) derived from a (meth)acrylic ester having a cationic or anionic group in an alcohol residue, a repeating unit (B) derived from a (meth)acrylic ester in which an alcohol residue is a ≥10C alkyl group, and a repeating unit (C) derived from a di(meth)acrylate, each in a prescribed amount. The repeating unit (A) signifies the introduction of an ionic group, and in accordance with an increase in the unit (A), osmotic pressure difference at the time of ionic dissociation increases and oil absorption is increased.
