      SOLUTION: In this paper feeding method and the paper feeder, air is blown on the paper loaded on a paper feed tray 59 to separate the paper one by one. An air blocking means for blocking the air to the loaded paper is installed near the side edge of the loaded paper to form an air flow passage in which a boundary is formed between an area for blocking the loaded paper from the air and an area for not blocking the loaded paper from the air. The boundary of the air flow passage is sequentially moved relative to the loaded paper by the relative movement of the air blocking means to the loaded paper to sequentially flow the air between the paper sheets of the loaded paper.
