SOLUTION: Each time a photoreceptor drum is rotated one time, a charge amount is corrected to increase, thereby making it possible to keep the charge amount flatter. Also, in view of an increase in an amount of recovery of the charge amount with an increase in rest time per cycle, the amount of recovery, ΔV, is calculated based on the rest time (also based on cycle and environment), and the degree of reset is adjusted. This prevents the charge amount from exceeding, in particular, the upper limit serving as a threshold at which scattering of developer (carrier) is caused.
