    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosensitive recording method by which a full-color image having high glossiness and high image quality can be printed by restricting the density variations of the image recording face after recording images in a thermosensitive recording material. SOLUTION: The thermosensitive recording method is characterized in that the method comprises a heating/pressurizing process for subjecting a thermo-sensitive recording material having at least one thermosensitive recording layer on a support to the heating/pressurizing process prior to performing image recording and an image recording process for performing image recording by heating the thermosensitive recording material subjected to the heating/pressurizing process. A laminated paper is preferably employed as the support. Preferably the heating temperature at the heating/pressurizing process is 50 to 200°C and the carrying speed of the thermosensitive recording material is 1 to 200 mm/second. SOLUTION: The thermal recording material provided with a recording layer which can develop a color by providing a heat on the substrate made of a paper base, or the thermal recording material which can be recorded by melt transfer or sublimation transfer by providing a heat, is characterized by that the original paper of the substrate comprises (1) an alkylketene dimer and/or an epoxidized fatty acid amide (b) as a sizing agent, and in addition, (2) a reaction product (c) of a polyvalent amine with a 8-40C fatty acid, (3) at least one kind (a) of polyacrylamide and a cationized starch, and a mass content ratio [(b+c)/a] of the sum of (b) and (c) to (a) is 0.25-1.25, and the density of the original paper is adjusted to 1.0-1.2 g/cm 3 by calender processing.
