SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus images an object to obtain image data representing the object image. A one-frame object image represented by the obtained image data is divided into 25 regions (H0, V0) to (H4, V4). High frequency component data are integrated by each division of the divided regions and the integrated value is standardized. It is considered that the principal object image exists in the divided region (H2, V2) whose standardized integrated value is highest. Noise elimination and sharpness processing or the like are applied to an image in the divided region (H2, V2).
