    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element having a high light-emission luminance and superior endurance, and to provide a novel iridium complex suitable for providing the light-emitting element. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescence element has at least one organic layer between a pair of electrodes, the at least one organic layer, containing a complex having a tridentate to hexadentate ligand represented by general Formula (1), in which a carbon atom in the benzene ring has a bond with an iridium atom and the benzene ring has substitution groups in the para position, with respect to the bond. In the general Formula (1), R 11 , R 12 , R 14 and R 15 , respectively stand for hydrogen atoms or the substitution groups independently. A symbol R 13 stands for a substitution group. Either or both of the R 11 and R 15 can coordinate with the iridium atom on the substitution group and both of the R 11 and R 15 cannot be hydrogen atoms at the same time.
