SOLUTION: In the platemaking method, a planographic printing original plate is subjected to scanning exposure to laser light, and then to heating and development. The printing plate has a photosensitive layer containing a hexarylbisimidazole compound, a chain transfer agent, a compound having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond and a polymer binder having a crosslinking group, on a hydrophilic support.
