CONSTITUTION:A medium material for electrophoresis which includes a medium layer for electrophoresis made of a polyacrylamide-based water gel produced by crosslinked polymerization of an acrylamide-based compound and a cross linking agent in the presence of water and containing a compound having a carbamoyl group as the modifying agent, and a resin support is provided with a resin intermediate layer made of a resin material with the oxygen transmission coefficient lower than the support material between the medium layer for electrophoresis and the support layer. The resin intermediate layer is preferably made of a resin material with the oxygen transmission of below 15cc/m .atm per day in the form of a film formed at a thickness of 20mum. The resin material herein applicable is a vinylidene chloride-vinyl chloride copolymer or the like.

The easy mass production of the aq. polyacrylamide gel film to be used for determining the base sequence of nucleic acids by electrophoresis is thus made possible.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance the travelling performance of an automatic conveyor by incorporating a lubricant and a fine powder specified in particle diameter in a backing layer formed on the reverse side of a silver halide photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:At least one silver halide emulsion layer is formed on the surface of a supporting film made of cellulose acetate or polyethylene terephthalate, or the like, and its reverse side is coated with a backing fluid composed of a lubricant, such as formula I or II, a fine powder contg. particles having >=5mum particle diameter amounting to >=30mol% of the total vol. of the particles, such as PMMA or SiO2, gelatin, an anionic surfactant, such as formula IV, etc. Preferable coating amts. of said lubricant and said fine powder to be added to the backing layer are 0.01-0.1g/m , and 0.1-0.5g/m , respectively.
