摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cable-laying method which enables easy performance of a cable-laying work over specified sections, without extending a cable at each manhole. SOLUTION: A cable 3 is extended from a drum 4, placed at a position near a manhole 2 to be laid into a tunnel 1. When the drum 4 performing the extending work is nearly emptied, the cable end of the drum 4 which performs the extending work at the extending position on the manhole 2 is tentatively connected to the leading end of the next drum at a cable provisional connecting part, so that the cable 3 is extended from the next drum holding the leading end. The repetition of this work enables the cable 3 to be extended and laid over specified sections from a single position of the manhole 2.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely connect a power cable and a guide bar of differing manufactures by connecting a wire rope to the one end of a connection tool, forming an opening of a specified inner diameter in the other end, and setting in the opening, an adapter having in the inner circumfernetial face, a screw to be engaged with that of a connection tool of a cable. SOLUTION: A guide bar 10 is formed in such a shape that its outer shape is gradually tapered from a base section 11 toward the end section and has a wire rope 15 laid in the shaft center. Then, a connection tool 20 is installed at the base section 11 of the guide bar 10, the wire rope 15 is connected to the one end of the connection tool 20, and an opening of a specified diameter is formed in the other end of the connection tool 20. An adapter 30, having the outer diameter which is the same as the inner diameter of the connection tool 20, is set in the opening of the connection tool 20. In an inner circumferntial face of the adaptor 30, a female screw 31 is formed. The female screw 31 is then engaged with a male screw 45 formed on an outer face of a connection tool 43 of a cable 40. By this method, the cable 40 and the guide bar 10 can be surely connected to each other, even if they are made by differing manufacturers'.

SOLUTION: In Figure (a), the upper and lower metallic lids 12, 13 of a rubber mold 11 are provided, in advance, with holes 14 to be threaded with core rods 16 therethrough, and the metallic rod 12 is also provide with a hole 15 through which silica powder is to be filled. In Figure (b), the four core rods 16 are threaded through the holes 14 and arranged in parallel with one another in the rubber mold 11. Granulating powder 17 prepared by blending silica powder with water and PVA is filled via the hole 15. In Figure (c), the metallic lids 12, 13 are removed and exchanged with rubber lids 12a, 13a followed by conducting a pressure molding, and the resultant porous molded form 18 is taken out, and then subjected to cutting work followed by specified heat treatment to obtain a preform, which is then drawn into the objective optical fiber.

摘要： PURPOSE:To efficiently provide the optical fiber base material which has the excellent adhesion of a core material and a molded article is sufficiently corrected in eccentricity of the molded article to a core material and is less fluctuated in the fiber diameter during drawing by mounting the core material into a forming mold, packing quartz powder therein, press forming this powder to form the molded article on the outer periphery of the core material as a porous base material and cutting the outer periphery thereof to correct eccentricity, then refining and vitrifying the base material to transparent glass. CONSTITUTION:A quartz glass rod 13 is inserted into the rod insertion hole of a lower cap 12 of the forming rubber mold 11 made of urethane. This glass rod 13a is produced by a VAD method and rods 13b for supporting are connected to both ends thereof. Three rotation preventive bodies 14 are previously mounted thereto by glass welding. Granulated particles 10 consisting of silica powder and PVA and having about 150mum average grain size are packed into the cavity in the forming rubber mold 11 while the lower cap 12 is kept vibrated. An upper cap 15 is then mounted to the mold and the mold is installed in a pressurizing device 16. Water is charged into this pressurizing device to pressurize the mold. The molded article is thereafter cut, refined and vitrified to the transparent glass.
