    • PURPOSE:To obtain a cord for an earphone hard to bent by external forces and having good elasticity by laying a linear or coil-shaped super elastic alloy wire made of Ni-Ti group alloy along a conductive wire and covering them with a insulating layer. CONSTITUTION:A Ni-Ti group alloy is formed into a linear shape by repeating annealing and cold-working after casting and hot-working and then formed into a linear super elastic alloy wire 5 by means of application of a predetermined heat treatment. Then the alloy wire 5 is laid along the outside of a conductive wire 4 and covered with an insulating layer 6 of a soft vinyl chloride to manufacture a cord. The Ni-Ti group alloy is formed in the construction of a cubic crystal in the basic phase condition of a high temperature phase and it is cooled to the martensite transformation temperature to turn in the martensite phase of a single rhombic crystal construction. The alloy is heated again, thereby, it is reversely transformed through the reverse transformation temperature to is exhibited return to the basic phase and thus a shape memory effect. An earphone cord hard to bent by an external force and having good elasticity can be obtained by incorporating this super elastic alloy wire in a cord.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the number of working processes of connecting a fastener and the manufacturing cost of the fastener by forming the cross-section of the fastener made of a shape- memory alloy in a horseshoe shape, and at the same time forming the fastener so as to exhibit such bi-directivity that a slit is opened wider at a low temperature while being closed at room temperature so as to generate engaging force. CONSTITUTION:A fastener 2 made of a shape-memory alloy, formed with a slit 1, is formed at its cross-section in a horseshoe shape, and at the same time it is formed with such bi- directivity that the slit 1 is opened wider at a low temperature while being closed to generate engaging force when the fastener is heated to room temperature. Or the fastener 2 made of the shape-memory alloy, formed in the forseshoe shape, is kept in a constant-temperature bath 3 controlled at a temperature of not more than (Ms point +50 deg.C), and then a jig 4 whose head is wedge-shaped is inserted into the R portion of the fastener, so that the slit 1 is opened wider than an opening of a size equivalent to the inside diameter of the R portion. Thereafter, when the jig 4 is pulled out from the R portion and the fastener is heated to room temperature the fastener exhibits such bi-directivity that the slit 1 is closed while being opened wider when the fastener is cooled to its low temperature. This can reduce the number of working processes of connecting the fastener to a liquid-crystal display panel so as to reduce the manufacturing cost of the fastener.

This process for production has a stage for subjecting the superelastic material contg. the Ni-Ti alloy to plastic working to obtain a tubular body having a prescribed shape and a stage for producing the discharge needle 12 by subjecting the tubular body to a heat treatment for shape memory for 2 to 120 minutes at 300 to 600 deg.C while applying tension thereto to maintain a straight shape.

    • PURPOSE:To make a joint strong against torsion in the circumferential direction of a pipeline in a shape memory alloy joint, in which a shape memory alloy joint and a cylindrical liner are arranged, by providing projections inside of the inner surface of the liner, and providing projections having notch parts in the inner surface of the liner. CONSTITUTION:Projections 4 are provided in the inner surface of a liner 3 located inside of a shape memory alloy joint along the circumferential direction of the liner to improve sealing property of the connection with a pipeline, and while projections 4' having partial notch parts 5 are provided along the circumferential direction of both ends outside of the projections 4. These projections 4' can be provided so that the notch parts 5 are distributed evenly in the circumferential direction, or so that the notch parts 5 are distributed unevenly, or multiple projections 4' can be provided in both ends so that the notch parts 5 are distributed evenly in the circumferential direction. A Ni-Ti group alloy, Cu-Zn-Al group alloy and other ordinary shape memory alloys can be used as the shape memory alloy for a joint. As a result, the joint is strong against the force in the twisting direction to improve reliability as a pipeline system.
