    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure the internal resistance of a plurality of storage batteries which are in usage state, as they are, connected to a battery charger and a load, without disconnecting the storage batteries. SOLUTION: A circuit, having the storage batteries 2a, 2b, 2c connected in series, is connected in parallel to the battery charger 1 via a current measurement instrument 3 in series, and therewith connected in parallel to a load 4. Then the alternating current of a constant current is sequentially provided to the both terminals of each storage battery 2a, 2b, 2c from the power source 5 of the alternating current of the constant current, and the voltage drop of each storage battery 2a, 2b, 2c at that time is sequentially measured with a voltage measurement instrument 6. Normally, a constant voltage is applied to each storage battery 2a, 2b, 2c from the battery charger 1, and therewith a current is fed to the load 4. In this state, the power source 5 of the alternating current of the constant current is connected to one of the storage batteries 2a, 2b, 2c, and then the voltage drop of the storage battery at that time is measured with the voltage measurement instrument 6, and therewith the current is measured with the current measurement instrument 3. A current, flowing in the storage, is determined by deducing the current value measured with the current measurement instrument 3 from a constant-current value, provided from the power source 5 of the alternating current of the constant current, and then the internal resistance of the battery is determined from this current and the voltage drop measured with the voltage measuring instrument 6.
