    • PURPOSE:To improve the control effect of azimuth for each drive of a tape and the durability of an azimuth control mechanism, by securing such a constitution where an individual control screw has a contact with an abutting part according to the tape driving direction, then the control screw moves away from the abutting part when the tape driving direction is changed. CONSTITUTION:A direction switch member 23 is shifted toward an arrow head A or B and therefore a cam member 21 is turned. Then an individual azimuth control screw has a contact with an abutting part for each tape driving direction. In other words, a control screw 19 has a contact with an abutting part 25 of the member 21. While a control screw 18 abuts on an abutting part 26. Thus the individual azimuth control is possible independently for each tape driving direction. At the same time, a follower part 20 is lifted via a cam part 24 during the switch of the driving direction. Thus both screws 18 and 19 move upward apart from parts 26 and 25 together with a head fixing plate 13. In such a way, the azimuth control effect is improved for each tape driving direction. Then the durability is also improved for an azimuth control mechanism.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent any damage of the power transmission gear in the caption, by transforming any excessively large power between gears of a power transmission mechanism, generated by the inertial power of a motor, into friction and absorbing this power, between the end faces of the gears, when magnetic tape cassette loading or discharging operation is performed. CONSTITUTION:Power of a motor 101 is transmitted to the second gear 63 and the third gear 72 of a reduction mechanism 61, through the fourth gear 106. At this time, the notch of the second gear 63 faces to the right. Accordingly, the second gear 63 and the third gear 72 are driven in the direction of an arrow C1 shown in the figure. Since a spring is set to energize the end faces of the gears 63, 73, that make sliding contact with each other, as making them close with each other, power of the motor 101 is transmitted to the first gear 62 formed with the gear 63 in an integrated one body through the gears 106, 63, and transmitted to the other mechanism furthermore, when the gear 106 is engaged with the gear 63 at the other part than the notch. On the other hand, the driving state of the motor 101 is stopped in a condition that the gear 106 faces to the notch of the gear 63.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and/or reproducing apparatus whose structure is simple, which can be miniaturized as a whole and which can restrain the transmission of a vibration to a medium driving unit. SOLUTION: A cassette 12 which houses a recording medium is provided. A first moving body 2 which is coupled to the cassette 12 so as to be freely detachable is provided. A second moving body 4 which is coupled to the first moving body 2 so as to be freely detachable is provided. A medium drive unit 10 which turns and drives the recording medium is provided. An elevating body 8 which is raised and lowered freely between a rise position separated from the medium drive unit 10 and a fall position brought close to the medium drive unit 10 in a state that the second moving body 2 is held is provided. A third moving body 6 which moves the elevating body 8 between the rise position and the fall position in its lower part is provided. The elevating 8 is held in the rise position when the cassette 12 is inserted, and it is held in the fall position when the cassette 12 is recorded and/or reproduced. A vibration isolating means and a vibration isolating means are installed at the bottom and the rear of the unit 10.
