    • PURPOSE:To attain Kanji (Chinese character) conversion or word conversion processing from a keyboard itself by inputting switchingly characters depending on the code system of one character one byte and characters depending on the Japanese language code system of one character two bytes. CONSTITUTION:A mode changeover means 13 changes over the normal mode and the Kana/Kanji (Chinese character) mode. In case of the normal mode, a normal character input section 16 allows datainput of one character one byte similarly as the input of conventional alphaneumerics. In case of the Kana/ Kanji mode, an expression retrieval means 15 retrieves a registered area 18 based on the input reading, and the reading the converted into an expression including Japanese characters registered in advance. An expression registration means 17 registers the reading and the expression being an object of conversion to the area 18 according to the registration command. The output of the expression retrieval means 15 and a normal character input section 16 is converted into a code as required and the code is sent to a display by a data transmission means 19.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the number of keys to be stored in the input device and thus to realize miniturization of the device as well as to facilitate the handling without changing the type of the output code and the number of the input enable characters for the device which converts various kinds of characters such as Chinese characters into the character code comprising two bytes. CONSTITUTION:For the device which converts the indicated characters, the decimal number characters and others into the 16-bit character code and then supplies the characters, etc., the character code sent from tablet device KT is supplied via gate G3 with installation of comparator 30 which compares the supplied character code with the 16-notation umber dode read out in sequeqnce from memory 31 via switch 10 supplying the decimal 4 digits. Then gate G4 using the output of comparator 30 as the input, counter 41, converter circuit 40 which converts the 16-notation number into the 16-notation code with the output of G4 used as the input, register 50 which supplies the output circuit 40, and gate G5 are added. Furthermore, signal adder OR is provided to add the output of gate G1 which divided the character code into 4 bits and the output of G5 together, and then the output added through adder OR is added to tape perforator PU.
