摘要： PURPOSE:To execute correction with a proper value by reading a single pattern data recorded on a magnetic tape without fail to detect the unsymmetry of a differentiated waveform. CONSTITUTION:The differentiated waveform (a) in reading a single pattern data is fed to a pulse slimming circuit 6, compared with a slice level 3 generated by a slice level generator 7 and the digital waveform is shaped and transmitted as shown in solid lines (b). The digital waveform enters respectively a ''1'' integration circuit 8 and a ''0'' integration circuit 10, the section interval is integrated at the ''1'' integration circuit 8 as shown in solid lines C and at the ''0'' integration circuit 10 as shown in solid lines (d). The maximum value 1 integrated by the ''1'' integration circuit 8 is held by a peak hold circuit 9 and the maximum value 2 integrated by the ''0'' integration circuit 10 is held by the peak hold circuit 11. A control circuit 13 changes the slice level as shown in dotted lines 4 and applies correction to decrease the difference between the maximum values 1 and 2.

摘要： PURPOSE:To eliminate read error due to excess or deficiency of gain of a read amplifier by adjusting the gain of the read amplifier so as to apply read retrial based on an output of an error detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A count value of a counter register circuit 10 of a gain switching circuit 3 is controlled to an optimum value by an up-down control signal of an amplitude check circuit 6 in reading a special burst signal adjusting automatically the gain of the read amplifier recorded near a magnetic tape write start point. In reading a data section, when fluctuation of a polse signal due to zero detection outputted from a demodulation circuit 7 exceeds a specified range, an error detection circuit 8 transmits an error detecting signal to a processor 9. Thus, the processor 9 decrements the count value of a counter register circuit 10 by 1 so as to reduce the gain of the gain switching circuit 3 thereby applying data read retrial.
