    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a library apparatus capable of automatically restoring a phase shift of a timing belt for lifting/lowering a hand mechanism of the library apparatus.SOLUTION: A library apparatus comprises, in a locker, a slot for storing a cartridge, a drive for the cartridge, and a hand mechanism for conveying the cartridge. A phase shift between a drive pulley for driving an elongated base component that includes the hand mechanism mounted thereon and is vertically lifted/lowered in the apparatus, and a timing belt is dissolved by a connection releasing mechanism 20 provided at one of belt connection parts 15 that are connected to the timing belt at both ends of the base component. The belt connection part 15 comprises a fixing part 15B and a movable engagement piece 15A. The engagement piece 15A is constantly energized to the side of the fixing part 15B and, when a timing belt floats across the drive pulley, the connection releasing mechanism 20 separates the engagement piece 15A from the fixing part 15B and reconnects it thereto to prevent the phase shift.
