    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To scatter the load in a network and also to attain the effective use of the resources by deciding the routes of the non-prescribed bit rate connections, based on the number of these connections which are controlled for each resource within the switchboards constructing a cell network. SOLUTION: ATM(asynchronous transfer mode) switchboards A and B, configuring an ATM network decide the connection routes to each other, based on a signaling protocol. The signaling protocol specifications set between a subscriber and the network are directly used as the signaling protocol between the switchboards A and B, and each of both switchboards has a table where the address prefixes are registered. Then the number of pieces of UBR connections which are already set at an output port of each switchboard is controlled for each output port (by each route), and the routes of UBR connections are decided based on the number of these connections.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system for enhancing operability by carrying out high quality routing processing. SOLUTION: An IPsec tunnel control section 11 establishes an IPsec tunnel on the Internet 4 by using an ISAKMP default route between its own apparatus 10 and a remote router R1. When a local IP address being a destination address is statistically registered and a second router on an IP default route to addresses other than the registered local IP address is statistically registered to a routing table T1 and the IPsec tunnel is established, a routing registration processing section 12 recognizes a global IP address of the remote router R1 and dynamically registers the global IP address corresponding to the local IP address.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) network system by which the occurrence of an exchange to be disconnected from a clock synchronization network is prevented, when faults occur in a clock supply route. SOLUTION: This ATM network system has a clock synchronization source 11 and plural nodes 12-17. Plural clock supply routes A-F are set in the system to allow each of the nodes 12-17 to receive a clock from the clock synchronization source 11. When each of the nodes 12-17 detects a fault of a route used at present, each of the nodes 12-17 gives an operation maintenance management(OAM) cell, including an alarm indication signal(AIS), to other nodes receiving clock supply through the route by means of a connection and changes the route in use to other route. Furthermore, the nodes receiving the AIS changes the active route into other route, based on the AIS.
