      SOLUTION: This contact terminal for the socket is to electrically connect between a connection part made of a metal conductor on a printed circuit board and a connecting terminal of an IC package, and has a U-shaped metal fitting having a main columnar part and arm parts on both sides, and an elastomer mounted to the metal fitting. A metal surface is exposed on the outer surface of the arm part of the metal fitting, and the elastomer is held between the arm parts so as to exercise repulsive force, when the elastomer presses the arm parts in the direction in which the arm parts of the metal fitting come close to each other. This semiconductor device has the contact terminal for the socket, and the IC package and the printed circuit board electrically connected through the contact terminal for the socket.
