    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus capable of withstanding long-term use by reducing the clogging of a filter. SOLUTION: An ink tank 1 is provided with a main ink chamber 11 and an intermediate chamber 16 and a second mesiscus forming member 17 is provided to the joint part 2 bonded to a printing head 3. A filter 22 is provided to the ink introducing part 4 connected to the ink tank 1 of the printing head 3. The opening diameter of the second meniscus forming member 17 is made almost same to that of the filter 22. By this constitution, the inflow of foreign matter into the filter 22 from the ink tank 1 is reduced to reduce the clogging of the filter 22 and, therefore, the use period of a recording apparatus can be extended. At this time, since the passage resistance from the filter 22 to a nozzle is high, air remaining in the connected part is guided to the intermediate chamber 16 within the ink tank 1 through the second meniscus forming member 17 and, therefore, an image quality defect by air bubbles in the printing head 3 is not increased.

SOLUTION: Partion plates 21 and 22 are provided along the circumference of an atmosphere communicating hole 13 in the back of a lid body 3. In addition, provided on a guard member 4 are a partition plate 23, a partion plate 26 and a wall portion 25 that surrounds the circumference thereof. The partion plates 21 and 22 form an air chamber 30 communicating with the atmosphere communicating hole 13, and the partion plates 22 and 24 form together with the wall portion 25 one air chamber 31 and two air chambers 32. Air enters into an ink tank from the atmosphere communicating hole 13 via the air chamber 30, a communicating groove 26, the air chamber 31, an communicating groove 27, the air chamber 32 and a communicating groove 28. On the contrary, ink held by an ink impregnated member is trapped in the air chambers 32, 31, 30 and therefore there is no risk of ink leaking from the atmosphere communicating hole 13.

SOLUTION: In such a state that a connection part 43 on a tank side and a connection part 3 on a recording head side are separated, the adhesive outside part of a seal material formed from a flexible sheet is bonded to the outer peripheral surface of the main body of the ink tank T outside a ring-shaped contact part 39a. When the ink tank T is connected to the connecgtion part 3 on the recording head side, the seal material 51 is peeled from the outside surface of the main body of the ink tank T and the tank connection part 43 of the main body of the ink tank T is mounted on the connection part 3 on the recording head side to be connected thereto. In such a state that the connection part 43 on the tank side is connected to the connection part 3 on the recording head side, the ring-shaped contact part 39a of the leading end of the connection part 43 on the tank side penetrates into an ink inflow hole 4 to come into contact with the ring-shaped contact member 6.
