      SOLUTION: The fuel chamber 18 and a drain tank 28 are provided in a casing 12 in the fuel cell 10. The fuel chamber 18 is provided in a cylinder 14, the inside and outside of the fuel chamber 18 are divided by a piston 16 that can freely slide in the cylinder 14, and the piston 16 moves in the cylinder 14 to vary the volume of the combustion chamber 18. The piston 16 is a spring member 26 and is pressed in a direction for reducing the volume of the fuel chamber 18. Even if the fuel is consumed by power generation and fuel in the fuel chamber 18 decreases, the volume in the fuel chamber 18 is reduced, thus preventing the liquid level of the fuel from decreasing and efficiently bringing the fuel into contact with an anode.

Hereby, the motor 61 does not perform further rewinding after the whole of the film 11 is accommodated completely in the cartridge body, so the operability can be improved by shortening the idling time of the film.
