    • PURPOSE:To measure free chlorine by transferring free chlorine in sample water to a gaseous phase while preventing the condensation of moisture on the inner wall of a measuring apparatus by mounting a gaseous phase extraction means, a carrier gas humidity conditioning means and a semiconductor type detection means. CONSTITUTION:Free chlorine in sample water is transferred to carrier gas by a gaseous phase extraction means 15 and the humidity of the carrier gas containing chlorine subjected to gaseous phase extraction is conditioned by a humidity conditioning means 16. A semiconductor type detection means 17 detects the amount of free chlorine transmitted to the carrier gas. Both of free chlorine and bound chlorine are transferred to the carrier gas by the gaseous phase extraction means 15 but the semiconductor type detection means 17 responds only to free chlorine and only hypochlorous acid in the sample water can be separated and measured without receiving the effect of bound chlorine in the sample water. Further, since the steam pressure in the carrier gas is held to saturated steam pressure or less by the humidity conditioning means 16, no moisture is condensed on the inner wall of a measuring apparatus and the re-dissolution and re-emission of free chlorine are eliminated and free chlorine in the sample water can be measured with high accuracy.

    • PURPOSE:To perform partial quantitization by extracting and transferring a sterilizer in a sample water containing a plurality of ozone, hypochlorous acid, and chlorine dioxide into a carrier gas, and dissolving and removing determined plural sterilizers through a column. CONSTITUTION:A sample water flows down in a glass pipe separator 1 and is drained by a liquid pump 2, and a carrier gas is sucked by an air pump 3, purified by columns 4, 5, and dried. Sterilizers of ozone, hypochlorous acid and chlorine dioxide in the sample water are transferred into the carrier gas while flowing down in the glass pipe separator 1. This measurement device has a column 10 for leaving a single sterilizer from the carrier gas. The total concentration of ozone, hypochlorous acid and chlorine dioxide is measured by use of a semiconductor type gas sensor 7. Ozone is decomposed and removed by manganese dioxide, and the total concentration of hypochlorous acid and chlorine dioxide is measured. The difference between the measurement values is taken to determine the ozone concentration. For hypochlorous acid, measurement is performed in the same manner by use of a strong basic negative ion exchange resin. For chlorine dioxide concentration, the ozone and hypochlorous acid are decomposed and removed by the manganese dioxide and strong basic negative ion-exchange resin to form the carrier gas containing only chlorine dioxide, which is then measured by the semiconductor type gas sensor 7.
