    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative ion-generating material generating negative ions utilizing characteristics possessed by the material without mixing a substance of a different kind such as tourmaline, a semiconductive substance, or a radioactive substance, having a high ability to generate the negative ions as compared with that of conventional materials, and sustaining the ability over a long period of time without deteriorating the activity thereof. SOLUTION: The negative ion-generating material is composed of a mixed fiber fabric comprising silk fibers subjected to a coating treatment with an ultrahigh-molecular weight poly-γ-glutamic acid having 600,000-3,000,000 mass-average molecular weight, and polyvinylidene chloride-based fibers.
