    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain fail-safe on failure determination of a crossing back-up beacon.
      SOLUTION: A crossing track circuit is set before the crossing and a crossing back-up device is installed at a position near the crossing as much as possible while ensuring a distance required for emergency stop of a train. The back-up beacon 5 applies emergency stop control to the train and stops it before the crossing when the train is passed in the state of becoming the non-warning state. A self-diagnosis unit 14 is installed on a receiver 7 of the crossing back-up device, determines whether or not a self-diagnosis signal, a determination signal of a detection time determination part and a determination signal of an output time extension part are within a regular range, and determines failure when at least one of any signals indicates a value out of the regular range.
