    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten an inspection time by accelerating a traveling speed of a vehicle in which an ultrasonic rail flaw detection apparatus is mounted, during an inspection, in an ultrasonic rail flaw detection apparatus which includes a plurality of channels corresponding to different detection ranges, transmits ultrasonic pulses from a plurality of ultrasonic probes provided correspondingly to the plurality of channels to a rail and detects a flaw of the rail from reflection echo of the ultrasonic pulses.SOLUTION: A plurality of ultrasonic probes 12a-12g are divided into at least two groups of one or more ultrasonic probes 12a, 12b, 12e, 12f which transmit ultrasonic pulses at a first interval in accordance with reception times corresponding to detection ranges thereof and one or more ultrasonic probes 12c, 12d, 12g which transmit ultrasonic pulses at a second interval longer than the first interval, and transmit ultrasonic pulses at correspondent intervals, respectively.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for measuring an amount of corrosion in the bottom of a rail, precisely measuring an amount of corrosion in the bottom of a rail even if there is wear in the head of a rail, and to provide a method therefor.
      SOLUTION: The method for measuring an amount of corrosion in the bottom of a rail includes the steps of: contacting an ultrasonic probe 12 to the top face of the head of a rail 1 having a head 1a, an abdomen 1b of which the horizontal width of a cross section shorter than that of the head 1a, and a bottom 1c of which the horizontal width of a cross section longer than that of the abdomen 1b; entering ultrasonic waves into the top face of the head vertically, at that time entering slightly diffused ultrasonic waves; detecting jaw-reflection echoes from a jaw 1d equivalent to the lower face of which the horizontal width of a cross section greater than that of the abdomen 1b of the head 1a of the rail and bottom-reflection echoes from the bottom 1c of the rail; determining the space between the jaw and a bottom-reflection source by the jaw-reflection echoes and the bottom-reflection echoes; comparing a measured value L of the space between the jaw and the bottom-reflection source with a reference value L
