    • PURPOSE: To measure the dew point accurately even on a contaminated sensor surface regardless of the type and extent of contamination by compensating for the action of contamination automatically. CONSTITUTION: A measurement detector 10 comprising a sensor element 12 fixed onto a Pettier effect element 14 and a temperature sensor 16 is arranged in a process. A humidity signal from the sensor element 12 forms a sensor capacity signal through an impedance evaluation circuit 20 while a temperature signal from the temperature sensor 16 forms the surface temperature signal of the sensor element 12 through a temperature evaluation circuit 22 and both signals are fed to a microcomputer 30. The microcomputer 30 compares the sensor temperature with a target temperature and delivers a temperature control signal to the Peltier effect element 14 thus keeping the sensor temperature constantly at a dew point. According to a program routine presented at a function block 38 of the microcomputer 30, a capacity being used as a guide amount for temperature regulation is regulated automatically to match the sensor capacity at the dew point accurately and contamination of the sensor is compensated automatically.

    • PURPOSE: To enable a dew-point sensor to detect the condensation which occurs immediately after the temperature reaches the dew-condensation temperature and to eliminate the influence of the surface contamination of the sensor by adjusting the intervals between the teeth of two electrode structures equal to or smaller than the diameter of the largest condensed water drop formed when the temperature reaches a dew point.
