After these operations are continued for about one week to make the activated sludge show original activity and when the activated sludge precipitates below the level B, the supernatant water is discharged, and as polluted water, rice washing water is added to return the water level to the level A and, after gas dispersion is carried out for a few minutes, the sludge precipitates and the transparency is measured. The measurement is carried out every day while gas dispersion is carried out and thus the treatment proceeding situation can be learned by the experience.

CONSTITUTION:The waste water containing the nonbiodegradable chromatic components such as kraft pulp waste water, night soil, sewage and drainage is inoculated with the strain belonging to penicillium janthinellum which is separated from rotten chips of wood and cultivated in a medium including alkali lignin, humic acid and bile as chromatic components, whereby such chromatic components are rapidly removed from the medium for causing the transparency thereof. Since the mycelium becomes colored as the decolorization of the aforesaid strain proceeds, the removal of most of the chromatic components from the medium is conceivably ascribed to the adsorption thereof to the surface of the mycelium.

This gel is granulated into a pellet form and a column is packed with pellets to form a float packed bed. Excretion from which a residue was removed is introduced into an anaerobic digestion column 3 from an introducing pipe 1 through an upper raw water distributor 2 to be passed therethrough in a downward stream. Whereupon, raw water receives methane fermentation by high concn. anaerobic digestion bacteria in gel particles to generate CH4-gas and CO2. The gas is guided to a digestion gas storage tank from a gas vent pipe 5.

摘要： PURPOSE:To economically obtain treated water completely freed of oil by passing waste water through a biological or physicochemical treating stage to remove a part of oil and then passing the waste water through a packed bed on which oil decomposing microorganisms are immobilized to remove the residual oil. CONSTITUTION:A part of oil in the waste water 1 flowing into a biological treating device 3 is oxidized and decomposed, and the residual oil is left in the water. The water 6 separated in a solid-liq. separation stage 5 is sent to an oil decomposing device 7, and the residual oil is biologically decomposed by the oxygen in the injected air 4. The oil collected by an immobilizing carrier 8 is held for the time sufficient for oil decomposing microorganisms 11 to decompose the oil, and the oil in the waste water is completely decomposed. Since the oil droplet 10 is held on the carrier 8 and the oil is continuously decomposed by the microorganisms immobilized on the carrier, the frequency of the backwashing of the packed bed, exchange of the carriers and desorption is remarkably decreased.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of a chemical agent in the adjustment of pH by treating org. sewage in a high pH biological treatment process and subsequently treating the same in a neutral pH biological treatment process in which acidic waste water is injected. The aeration tank 6 is held to pH 8.5 or more and BOD in raw water is oxidized herein by the action of BOD oxidizing bacteria and the waste water is subjected to solid-liquid separation in a sedimentation basin 7. The overflow water containing the residual BOD component from the sedimentation basin 7 flows in the aeration tank 9 of a neutral pH treatment process 8 along with acidic waste water 1' and return sludge 3 and the BOD component is perfectly removed herein and the waste water is subjected to solid-liquid separation in a sedimentation basin 10 to be discharged as discharge water 17. The sludge discharged from the high pH treatment process is excellent in dehydration and sedimentation properties and the generation amount of sludge is also reduced by 20-40% as compared with conventional biological treatment within a neutral pH region.
