    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a canister-type vacuum cleaner having a more compact body.SOLUTION: A canister-type vacuum cleaner includes a body, a hose and a joint for attaching the hose to the body. The joint includes a first component attached to the body, and a second component attached to the hose. Each of the components has a pipe for carrying fluid from the hose to the body. The second component can be attached to the first component by sliding the second component to the first component along a sliding axis. When attaching the second component to the first component, two pipes are sealed on each other at a sealing surface non-orthogonal to the sliding axis.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a canister type vacuum cleaner having high performance and high stability.SOLUTION: A canister type vacuum cleaner 1 includes a main body to which a hose 3 is fitted. The main body includes: a chassis; a dust separation unit 5 carried by the chassis; and an inlet assembly for carrying a fluid from the hose 3 to the dust separation unit 5. The dust separation unit 5 includes an inlet 12 located at the base of the dust separation unit 5. The inlet assembly includes: an insertion port 16 fixed to the chassis; and a hose joint 17 rotatably fitted to the insertion port. The hose 3 is fitted to the hose joint 17, and the insertion port 16 is projected into the inlet 12 to support the dust separation unit 5 and also carry a fluid to the dust separation unit 5.
