摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface cleaner, especially a domestic cleaner and further especially a domestic vacuum cleaner in which a flexible suction or blowout hose which can be arranged as a part of a hose and wand assembly can be incorporated.
SOLUTION: The domestic vacuum cleaner includes a flexible hose in which a length of the hose has a hose-wall formed at least in part by a layer of ripstop fabric. The hose-wall is formed entirely by one or more layers of fabric, including the layer of ripstop fabric, and at least one of the layers of the hose is sealed for preventing the escape of a fluid through the hose-wall during normal use of the hose. The hose offers an alternative to the conventional corrugated plastic hose commonly used in domestic vacuum cleaners.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface cleaner having a flexible hose which can be arranged as a part of a hose and wand assembly in the cleaner and is extendable or a so-called "stretch" hose. SOLUTION: The flexible hose is used especially for a domestic upright vacuum cleaner for carrying a transferred fluid. The hose is a stretch hose, which is extendable lengthways from a retracted length to an extended length under a tensile force applied to the hose, the extended length being at least 25% longer than the retracted length. A length of the hose has a hose wall formed at least in part by a layer of fabric which is sealed to form an impermeable barrier for the fluid carried by the hose, and which therefore provides a layer which is impermeable and has a high resistance to cyclic fatigue.
