    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided a friction stir welding tool which force-fits a probe pin extended from the distal end face of a rotor rotating at high speed into a joint portion of a member to be joined and which then moves the probe pin along the joint portion to join the member to be joined at the joint portion by friction stir welding, in which wearing and buckling of the rotor or the probe pin and also thermal deformation or the like of the joint portion of the member to be joined are suppressed.
      SOLUTION: The friction stir welding tool is disclosed which force-fits the probe pin 12 extended from the distal end face 11a of the rotating rotor 11 into the joint portion 1a of the member to be joined 1 and which then moves the probe pin along the joint portion to join the member to be joined at the joint portion by friction stir welding, wherein a part of the probe pin and the rotor that come into contact at least with the member to be joined is composed of WC-based cemented carbide containing 5-18 wt% Co.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool capable of stably performing cutting of a planar square shape such as a square hole having a corner part of a square shape for even a hard material to be cut such as steel.SOLUTION: This cutting tool 100 is mounted in a cutting device X including a mechanism for converting rotational movement of a rotary shaft into square shaft shape movement by at least two kinds of cams. The cutting tool 100 includes three bottom blades 103 at a distal end of a cutting portion 102 extended from a tool holding portion 101 of a substantially right triangular column shape. An outer peripheral distal end of each bottom blade is located on the same circumference. A line for connecting an axial center O and the outer peripheral distal end of each bottom blade and a line for connecting the axial center O and each apex angle portion of the tool holding portion 101 are made to coincide with each other on a plane. An outer peripheral relief angle θ of an outer peripheral blade is made more than 45° and 60° or below, and an outer rake angle α is made -10°or more and -40°or below. In the outer peripheral blade, a margin M of 0.02 mm or more is provided.

    • PURPOSE:To greatly improve the cutting property and expand the effective range of a cutting edge of a tip by forming the cutting edge of the curved shape consisting of the projecting face and the planar relief surface on the corner part on the side surface of the planar tip. CONSTITUTION:A tip 1 of approximately rectangular shape to be fixed to a tip pocket of a side milling body by a mounting bolt is provided with projecting faces 11a-11d from the front surface side 12a to the rear surface side of the corner part in a diagonal manner. The planar faces are formed on the side surfaces 13c, 13d of four sides to form the cutting edges 15a-15d where the sides constituted of the faces 11a-11d and the relief surfaces are curved. Beveled parts 16a, 16b are provided on the front surface side 12a and the rear surface side of the tip 1 to prevent the chipping property of the tip 1, and to improve the mounting of the side milling body on the tip pocket. This constitution allows the initial cutting to be started from the points of the cutting edges 15a-15d, leading to the advancement of the cutting and the expansion of the cutting range.
