    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous resin composition from which a primer layer can be formed with excellent adhesiveness to not only an olefin substrate but also various substrates, as well as with excellent adhesiveness to a printed layer and an overcoat layer.SOLUTION: An aqueous resin composition and a primer are provided, comprising the following urethane resin (A) and an aqueous medium (B). The urethane resin (A) is obtained by allowing polyisocyanate to react with a polyol comprising: an aromatic polyester polyol (a1) obtained by allowing a polyol to react with a polycarboxylic acid containing 70 mass% to 100 mass% of an aromatic polycarboxylic acid; an aromatic polyester polyol (a2) obtained by allowing a polyol to react with a polycarboxylic acid containing 20 mass% to less than 70 mass% of an aromatic polycarboxylic acid; and a polyol (a3) having a hydrophilic group.
