    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cryogenic medical instrument in which it is prevented that a probe jumps out of an end of a sheath tube or high pressure gas jets into a subject when gas leakage occurs inside the sheath tube. SOLUTION: The cryogenic medical instrument is used for cryotherapy for necrotizing an affected part by supplying a probe 1 inserted in the sheath tube 2 punctured into the affected part with freezing gas and thawing gas by turns and repeating freezing and thawing of the affected parts. An end part of the sheath tube is provided with a coming-off stopping means 3 for preventing the probe from jumping out of the tip of the sheath tube by high pressure gas due to gas leakage occurred in the sheath tube. When gas leakage occurs inside the sheath tube for some reason during cryotherapy, the coming-off stopping means stops the probe from jumping out of the sheath tube to the affected part side by high pressure gas, so that safety of the cryotherapy is improved. The gas supply/exhaust system (100) supplies a freezing gas and a thawing gas to a probe (60) of the freezing probe system (300) to freeze and thaw the therapy region near the end of the probe (60) by the Joule-Thomson effect. The control system (200) controls the gas supply/exhaust system (100) and creates therapy plan data for the control. The therapy plan data include a freezing and thawing sequence to determine the freezing period and thawing period. The computer in the control system (200) determines the sequence.
