    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a flat cable capable of facilitating assembly of the flat cable in an electronic apparatus having a small working space, allowing mechanization of the assembly, and capable of correctly connecting an electrode pattern of the flat cable to contact points of corresponding contacts. SOLUTION: This connector for a flat cable is structured such that the flat cable 11 is connected to and separated from contacts 17 of a housing 14 by forward and backward movement of a slider 15. In the connector, the contact 17 is made by bending it into an S-shaped form, by flexurally forming a step continuing from a low horizontal part 45 in an intermediate part through a rising inclination part 46 to a high horizontal part 47, and by forming a downward V-shaped contact point 21 at a tip part extending frontward from this S-shaped spring part 44; and, on a wedge plate part 20 integrated with the slider 15, cable locking projections 29 for locking lock holes 49 of the flat cable 11 are formed.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce luminance irregularity of an EL panel. SOLUTION: When EL panels 9a, 9b are arranged in the scan direction, the EL panel 9b generates rounding as shown in (b) due to a wiring resistance of a scan electrode 20. However, the EL panel 9b having a voltage-luminance characteristic is used in which the EL panel 9b, when emits light at a voltage Vb, emits light at the same luminance Lo as the luminance Lo of the EL panel 9a at a voltage Va. The EL panel 9a having a desired luminance at a relatively high voltage is disposed near a scan driver IC 18, and the EL panel 9b having a desired luminance at a relatively low voltage is disposed far from the scan driver IC 18, so that luminance irregularity between the EL panel 9a and the EL panel 9b can be suppressed. Even when a relatively low voltage is applied to the EL panel 9a and relatively high voltage is applied to the EL panel 9b, the luminance irregularity between the EL panel 9a and the EL panel 9b can be suppressed.

By doing it this way, since the main surface of the nonparallel board 72 is not extended in the direction of displacement of the female terminal 3, the female terminal 3 can be transformed easily in the width direction y of the engaging groove 10 by the elastic transformation of the nonparallel board 72.
