    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastication method for a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin which can stabilize a plastication time while controlling the breakage of fibers contributing to the mechanical properties of an obtained molding in a plastication process, and to provide a molding method for molding the resin effectively.
      SOLUTION: In the plastication method for the fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin, an injection molding machine has a barrel the temperature of which can be controlled individually in a plurality of zones, a hopper installed above one end on the upstream side of the barrel, and a screw which is installed in the barrel and has a compression ratio below 2. Pellets are supplied into the barrel through the hopper and melt-kneaded. The resin is plasticated under improved plastication conditions in which the feed of the resin in the barrel is controlled so that the plastication time of the first shot is 1.1-3 times as long as the plastication time of the first shot when the resin is plasticated under ordinary conditions. In the molding method, the resin is molded after being plasticated by the method.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide long fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin pellets well engaging into a plasticator, capable of being efficiently plasticated in a short time and capable of keeping the length of residual fibers contributing to the strength of an obtained molded object, a plastication method for pellets and an efficient manufacturing method for the molded object.
      SOLUTION: The fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin pellets comprising the same material contain reinforcing fibers having the almost same length as the pellets in an arranged state, and have peaks in pellet lengths L1 and L2 in a distribution of pellet lengths and the number of the pellets. Herein, the pellet lengths L1 and L2 satisfy formula (1): 1.5≤(L2/L1)≤3 and formula (2): 4.5≤L1≤9. The fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin pellets are charged in the plasticator and melted and kneaded to be plasticated.
