摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of machining a metal part which overcomes limitations of known techniques. SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a metal housing 14 includes a step of providing a first passage 10 through the metal housing 14, and a step of providing a second passage 12 through the metal housing 14, wherein the second passage 12 includes a region 20 of intersection which intersects the first passage 10 to define an opening 22 into the first passage 10. The method further includes a step of subjecting an inner surface of the first and/or second passage 10, 12 to a heat treatment process to be carburized, and a step of applying a hard stage electrochemical machining process to the carburized internal surface of the first and/or second passage 10, 12 to improve surface finish. Another aspect includes a step of providing a second passage 12 through the metal housing 14 by means of a tool such as an electrochemical machining electrode.
