    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat for a vehicle with a forcedly ventilating function which is advantageous in view of its cost and does not increase noise when a load is applied to the seat. SOLUTION: A seat 1 for a vehicle is provided with a seat part 11 and a seat back part. The cushion part 13 of the seat part or the seat back part comprises a non-ventilating cushion layer 17, a ventilating layer 16 with which substantially all the surface of the cushion layer 17 is covered and a ventilating cushion cover 18 with which the ventilating layer 16 is covered, A ventilating unit 20 supplies air to the ventilating layer 16 through an air duct 35 extending in the cushion layer 17. A through hole 34 connected to the air duct 35 is formed in a high rigid plate slaped member for supporting the cushion layer 17. The ventilating unit 20 is arranged substantially coaxially with the through hole and attached to the high rigid plate shaped member so that a large external force is not exerted thereon. The high rigid plate shaped member of the seat part 11 is configured as a seat shell 32 and the high rigid plate shaped member of the seat back part is formed as a reinforcing plate for supporting an air pocket defining member.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat whose outer shape can be adjusted and to provide, particularly in a seat of an automobile, a simple outer shape adjusting system. SOLUTION: A backrest 10 and a forward curved region wherein air cushions 11, 12 which are disposed on the upper and lower sides respectively to form a forward curved outer shape are provided. A control device 17 is provided to control the pressure charging of the air cushions. An operation unit 20 connected to the device 17 is provided to set charging pressure. In order to adjust the outer shape of the forward curved region of the backrest 10 to provide a most suitable back support which is simple and can be theoretically operated, two sets of command buttons 26, 27 are provided in the operation unit 20. If one of two command buttons being a first set of buttons is pushed, the device 17 changes the charge pressure ratio of the cushions 11, 12, and if one of the command buttons of the other set of buttons is pushed, charge pressures of the air cushions 11, 12 are simultaneously changed, while the ratio of charge pressure is not changed.
