The sound deadening material (10) has a first sound absorption material (11) comprising glass fibers, a first scatter prevention member (12) which is provided so as to cover one main surface of the sound absorption material (11), and a second scatter prevention member (13) which is provided so as to cover the other main surface of the first sound absorption material (11). The first scatter prevention member (12) and the second scatter prevention member (13) are a sound absorption material comprising fibers of the same material having higher fiber strength than the glass fibers, and are wound around the compressor (1) such that the first scatter prevention member (12) or the second scatter prevention member (13) faces the compressor (1).
