    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for efficiently separating and recovering an unreacted fluoromonomer from a fluoropolymer aqueous dispersion obtained by carrying out emulsion polymerization without using an extraction solvent and suppressing hydrolysis of a sulfonic acid precursor functional group capable of converting to a sulfonic acid group such as -SO
      2 F.
      SOLUTION: The present invention provides a method for recovering the unreacted fluoromonomer from the fluoropolymer aqueous dispersion obtained by carrying out emulsion polymerization of a fluoromonomer having a sulfonic acid precursor functional group capable of converting to a sulfonic acid group. The method comprises a step (1) for coagulating the fluoropolymer in the fluoropolymer aqueous dispersion and a step (2) for recovering the unreacted fluoromonomer by vaporizing the unreacted fluoromonomer from the fluoropolymer aqueous dispersion obtained in the step (1).
