An inclination angle α of the web thinning part against an axis of the drill body is made to 45-65 deg., an angle βof the web thinning part against a rake surface 15 of the cutting blade is made to 70-90 deg. and a length (a) of the web thinning part exceeding from the cutting blade to the rotation center of the drill body is made to a range of 0.4-0.8 mm.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To machine a deep hole with high accuracy by forming a center cutting edge recessed in V-shape by web thinning so as to eliminate a chisel. SOLUTION: At the time of web thinning, web thinning is performed from the rotational center to opposite side parts so as to eliminate a chisel. With this web thinning, a center cutting edge 12 recessed in V-shape is provided at the rotational center part, and parts 11a of main cutting edges 11 on both sides continuous with the center cutting edge 12 are formed in circular arc shape. Centripetal ability is therefore improved, and straight advancing ability at the time of cutting is heightened to attain straight drilling. Chips at the part of the center cutting edge 12 and the parts 11a of the main cutting edges 11 curved by web thinning become small and are appropriately led into a helical flute 13 and discharged, and fusion of the chips is suppressed so as to be able to machine a deep hole with high accuracy.
