    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device in which a luminance irregularity generated in a display panel having lead-out electrode sections for cathode lines is suppressed as much as possible.
      SOLUTION: When EI elements 2 of a display panel 1 are made to emit light, voltage drops VR generated at transparent electrodes of cathode lines 4 are estimated by a voltage drop estimating section 22 of a display device 25 based on a number x of light emitting elements for every cathode line 4 while referring to image data. A pulse width computing section 23 sets the amount of supply of a driving current I to be supplied to the cathode side from the anode side by a pulse width PW based on the estimated voltage drops VR. A control signal generating section 24 supplies the driving current I having the amount of supply being set to driver ICs 8 and 9. To be concrete, as the estimated voltage drop VR become larger, the amount of supply of the driving current I is set greater in a time integral manner.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the display performance of a display device having EL elements. SOLUTION: A transparent EL panel 9 and a surface light emission element 17 are provided on the display portion 15c of this display device 25 and polarizing films 18 are affixed to the front and back faces of the transparent EL panel 9 with their polarizing directions parallel to each other. Rotating polarizing filters 11 are disposed on the front and back faces of the transparent EL panel 9. Each rotating polarizing filter 11 is rotated and displaced by a varying means comprising a guide roller 12, a drive roller 12a and a rotating motor 13. By rotating and displacing the rotating polarizing filter 11 on the back face of the transparent EL panel 9, a display with a certain tone ranging from the composite colors (white) of the transparent EL panel 9 and the surface light emission element 17 to the monochrome (orange) of the transparent EL panel 9 can be provided. The brightness of the display device 25 can be continuously adjusted by varying the rotating angle of the rotating polarizing filter 11 disposed on the front face of the transparent EL panel 9.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To finely secure display of a liq. crystal cell without generating an orientation defect in the liq. crystal even if a volume shrinkage of the liq. crystal occurrs by imparting rigidity to at least a part of each of plural lines of partitions where the rigidity is lower than that of the other part. SOLUTION: This liq. crystal cell is provided with two electrode substrates 10, 20, a belt-like seal intervened in the peripheral part between these two electrode substrates, plural lines of partitions 50 inserted in parallel between the both electrode substrates in an inner peripheral side of this seal, and a liq. crystal 30 filled with the seal in between the both electrode substrates. And in this liq. crystal cell, the plural lines of partitions have respectively lower rigidity, at least in a part of each partition, than that of the other part. In such a manner, even if the liq. crystal filled in the liq. crystal cell yields volume shrinkage with its temp. change, the low rigidity parts of each partition are deformed following this. Thus, a space between both electrode substrates becomes narrow while effectively inhibiting generation of stress caused by the volume shrinkage in the liq. crystal.

SOLUTION: A wheel speed sensor 10 is mounted on each wheel of an automobile and a pulse signal output by the sensor 10 is taken by a signal processing device 20, which determines a wheel speed of each wheel by the pulse signal and extracts a resonance frequency with regard to the vibration of a tire by introducing a linear prospect model into the wheel speed signal or performing a FFT calculation. On the other hand, an outside air temperature sensor 40 mounted on the vehicle detects the temperatures of the tire and the road and the extracted resonance frequency is corrected based on the detected temperatures such that the variations caused by the detected temperatures are absorbed. The air pressure of the tire is estimated based on a linear relationship between the corrected resonance frequency and the air pressure of the tire.
