摘要： PURPOSE:To safely store radioactive substances for a long period of time, by a method wherein a metal waste material containing radioactive substances is melted in the presence of an inorg. substance having basicity of 0.5 or less to reduce the volume thereof and radioactive substances are transferred to the side of said inorg. substance. CONSTITUTION:A metal waste material containing radioactive substances and an inorg. substance having basicity of 0.5 or less such as concrete, zeolite or the like are thrown in a throw-in port 2 to be melted by heating. By this treatment, the metal waste material is melted to form a lower layer and the inorg. substance collects radioactive substance to form an upper layer 8 as a floated substance and uncollected substances are introduced into a filter apparatus 6 from dust discharge dust 4 to be discharged to the atmosphere as a purified gas. The filter apparatus 6 has such a beneficial point that accumulation of radioactive substances to the inner wall of a treating furnace and the filter apparatus is reduced compared to a conventional volume reducing installation. In addition, separation efficiency of radioactive substances is good and exhausion of radioactive substances from the treating furnace as dust is reduced.

摘要： PURPOSE:To equalize the spatial distribution of gain while keeping the absorption efficiency of exciting beam high so as to improve the amplification efficiency by reflecting the transmitted light of the LD exciting beam on a 1/4 wavelength plate and linear polarization plate against a solid laser medium based on that a high output LD is linear polarization, to pass the transmitted light through the medium two times without fail. CONSTITUTION:A solid laser amplifier is composed of laser diodes(LD) 1 and 2, collimators 3 and 4, linear polarization plates 5 and 6, and 1/4 wavelength plates 7 and 8, which are paired and also facing each other respectively, and a solid laser medium is fixed in the center among them and further the refrigerant 10 and 11 are prepared in order to cool the amplifier. The exciting beam from respective LDs 1 and 2 is almost absorbed into the medium 9, however, remaining exciting beam is reflected on the plates 5 and 6 to pass through the medium two times, thereby the spatial distribution of gain can be equalized.

摘要： PURPOSE:To miniaturize and lighten a detection mechanism, and to improve the workability of radiation measurement while enhancing spectral sensitivity by combining a photocell with a CsI (TI) scintillator requiring no cryogenic cooling mechanism and high-tension power supply and cooling both the scintillator and the photocell by a small-sized lightweight thermoelectric cooling panel and a radiation shielding body. CONSTITUTION:A well type sub-detector 2 is arranged so as to surround a core type main detector 1, the single crystal of CsI (TI) is used as a scintillator, and electronic signals are generated by photocells 3 mounted on each end face, extracted to each preamplifying substrate 4, and input to a anticoincidence counter circuit. Thermoelectric cooling panels 5 are stuck on the photocells 3, and the temperatures of the photocells 3 are cooled at 30 deg.C or lower. The heat of the panels 5 is transmitted over radiation shielding bodies 9, 10, 11 through transmission plates 6 at that time, and dissipated to the outside. An anticoincidence counting method is applied to the two signals extracted from the preamplifying substrate 4, and noises by Compton scattering of gamma-ray spectrum are removed, thus improving spectral sensitivity.

摘要： PURPOSE:To measure the distribution of radiation dosage rates safely in the shortest time with the minimum trouble by calculating dosage rate data at an optional position in a space from the spatial position of a radiation source found from radiation images from two positions. CONSTITUTION:Position signals XA and XB, and YC and YD of each event which are obtained from a scintillation camera(SC) 1 are amplified, converted 2, and inputted to a CPU 6, which finds and stores the coordinates and intensity of the incidence position of gamma rays in a memory 5. Then the SC 1 is used a certain time later to obtain a radiation image of one object (space including the radiation source). Then the SC 1 is moved to another position to obtain a 2nd radiation image of the same object and the CPU 6 finds the distribution of the ray source in the object by trigonometrical survey from the two images. Thus the distribution of the ray source is found and the dosage rate at an optional desired position in the object is calculated; and the CPU 6 generates a computer graphic image of the spatial distribution in the object and stores it in the memory 5. Consequently, distribution data on the radiation rates is obtained outside the space including the radiation source.

The degree of the leakage and lost parts of the apparatus piping line of the unspecified object to be inspected can be surely detected from an optical output indication of the output meter and the detecting lamp, by surveying along the apparatus piping line the metallic thin film part operating as a sensor.
